VA-Birders,
Because of the cold the feeders here at the abbey were well attended throughout
the day, with 6 Purple Finches (4 males) joining the House Finches and scores
of Goldfinches at the hanging feeders.
In our overgrown fields, among the brush piles, I found a couple of female
Towhees, a Fox Sparrow, Song Sparrows, White-thr. Sparrows, more Juncos and
over a dozen Cardinals.
There were also 3 Yellow-rumped Warblers, a Winter Wren and some Golden-crowned
Kinglets in a hedgerow along the stream.
