If one thinks this is one small incident, then you obviously don't get it.
Sometimes we do have to impose restrictions on ourselves to help the birds and
wildlife, but that doesn't mean we're giving more importance to birds than
people. Because we have severely compromised their habitats causing their
numbers
to plummet in many cases, we owe it to them to help in any way we can. Is it
really a hardship for you not to be able to drive your ORV in restricted areas,
temporarily? We all have rules and regulations to follow, even the ones we
don't like. I am a SUV owner and have spent many hours along the beaches of the
Outer Banks over the last fifteen years. I would never think about crossing
over the restricted area where many migratory bird species breed and rest. I
realize the importance of setting aside these areas, because these birds have a
hard enough time as it is. Anything I can do to help them makes my life all the
better. Is that so unreasonable? How have you helped wildlife lately?
Wouldn't you rather be part of the solution than the problem?
