[va-bird] Chimney Swifts in Arlington on Oct. 25

I'd like to second Val Kitchens' sightings of Chimney Swifts over
Arlington yesterday (Oct. 25). A little before noon, as I was headed
out to get lunch, I saw a total of 6 Chimney Swifts (5 that seemed to be
flocked and another one that did not associate with the flock) flying
around over the area above the above-ground entrance to the Crystal City
Metrorail station (18th Street and South Bell Street). This is a little
west of the northern end of Washington National Airport. They were
fairly high up and I did not have any binoculars with me but the shape
(in silhouette; a "cigar with wings") and fast bursts of wingbeats
separated by relatively short periods of soaring eliminated any other
possibility (like some sort of swallow). These are the latest Chimney
Swifts I've ever seen.
