Jay and Carol:
I'd like to see this show, but I'll be traveling this week. Do you remember
how much longer the swifts will be here before they head south?
Thanks,
Bill

Subject: [va-bird] Chimney Swifts at Luther Jackson MS and Nighthawks at
Tysons
Hello all,
A group of 13 birders met at Luther Jackson Middle School just off Gallows
Road in Fairfax County last night.
They joined several other birders already there for the Chimney Swift show.
By getting there at just after 7:30 we missed the first group of about 1500
birds who were already in the chimney. But, we were in time for the second
group, estimated to be about the same size, swirling around and diving into the
chimney.
After that, off we went to Tysons Corner to watch upwards of 20 Common
Nighthawks flying around one of the two pyramid topped office buildings that
had its' lights on. These buildings are just east of Gallows Road and about a
block south of Route 7
Good Birding,
Jay and Carol Hadlock
