Grace,
This is the first time in my recollection that a Cassin's Finch has been
noted on VA-Bird in the 6+ years I have been a member. Can a photo or video
be obtained to document this western bird of coniferous forests?

A friend who lives in Norfolk and is feeding
birds through the summer for the first time, says
they have a regular visitor to the feeder that
they are sure is a Cassin's finch. She says they
know the habitat isn't right according to the
books, but the ID marks are so clear it might as
well be wearing a name tag! Any comments from
others in the area? Have other Cassin's been
sighted?
Thanks,
Grace
