Hi Everyone,
Well as you all know I cant get "out" and about with my little girl to do
much birding due to her illnesses but have been so excited by the site of a
Carolina Wren mommy who built her nest in the cap to the propane tank- she is
warm, dry and covered.
With a ready food source near by. I left crushed/cleaned egg shells and saw
her eating them the other day. I was surprised to find when I looked in the
nest this week that there are two light blue speckled eggs waiting to hatch.
Good thing we don't need gas right now. Does anyone know what their favorite
thing to eat is? I feed regularly in 8 feeders- suet, finch food, black oil
sunflower seeds, mixed seeds and mixed suet cakes. I am anxiously awaiting
their
arrival and am trying not to disturb the nest in anyway-except to maybe take
a few pictures if I can.
I am an expectant bird mommy now. lol
Hope all is well in your own back yards.
Take care.
