[va-bird] Cape Charles Christmas count non-compilation

In spite of my having contacted the state park 3 times prior to the count plus Jared Sparks doing the same the day before the count and Ned Brinkley once earlier the day of (Dec. 30), the meeting room in their HQ building was not available to us until it was too late.  Of course I am very sorry but there's not much I could have done about it here in upstate New York (Canton) for the funeral of my mother-in-law.

Today I saw 4 redpolls here (commons, of course), lovely tree sparrows, and a beautiful but dead fresh roadkill male Ruffed Grouse.  15 degrees was the high.

Haven't heard much about the count except for a Glaucous Gull Dan Cristol saw on Smith Island and Ned's reference to the "hummer", which I assume is the imm. male Allen's banded earlier this month.  That, needless to say, is new for the cumulative list.  Hallelujah.
