Clear sky, winds mostly NNE 5-10 mph, high of 75 degrees F.
Observations:
An early push of 136 BW the first hour, with one kettle of 60, and birds
already up at a 3. Then a few hours when we could find few birds, until
451 came through in the 12:00 hour, with largest kettles of 136, 124 and
107. Then three more quiet hours and a kettle of 30 at 16:16 and a final
7 BW at 16:28 EST.
Great Blue Heron (3), Common Nighthawk (4: 1 at 15:49 and 3 at 17:17 EST),
Red-headed Woodpecker (2), R. T. Hummingbird (1), Y. B. Sapsucker (1),
Blue Jays (27), Monarchs (123), Dragonflies (7).

Candler Mountain is located on the southeast edge of Lynchburg, VA, in
Virginia's Inner Piedmont. It is on a minor ridge that parallels the Blue
Ridge Parkway, 16 miles to the NW. The bare knob offers a 360 degree view
