We were out for our morning walk to the boat ramp on our subdivision lake,
where we saw the remnants of one of this year's crop of Canada Geese floating
in the water. The head and neck were gone, and a large snapping turtle was
tearing flesh from the upper part of the breast. The various fish and some
small painted turtles were enjoying the scraps.
I'd heard that snappers take goslings but, this goose was probably 3-4
months old. Not quite as big as the adults but in full adult plumage.
