All: I had my first yellow-rump warbler in my maple tree yesterday.
Our maple tree is just running sap like never before; it is dripping off all
the branches and the warbler was drinking from some of these spots. I don't
remember ever seeing this before. We have also had our squirrels doing the
same thing. Very interesting behavior, especially as the squirrels hang
upside down to get at the running sap.
I could swear I saw a chickadee chase the yellow-rump as well. I didn't
catch a great look but someone was fussing at the warbler.
AND our pileated pair was back at the suet.
And to top off a great spring day - we got a chance to see the owl show on
Montressor Road last night - thanks to all the great postings on this list
server and the perfect directions we got.
Weekends don't get much better than that!
