Following the pattern noted over the last couple of years, some of the
shorebirds that feed on the mudflats at Hunting Creek about the time of
low tide can be found resting and preening at Cameron Run about the time
of high tide. Today, a single, beautiful Short-billed Dowitcher
joined Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Least Sandpipers, and Killdeer at
Cameron Run. It is likely the one first noted by Jon Little last
Saturday and observed at various times at Hunting Creek over the last
week. I also thought I recognized one of the Lesser Yellowlegs that I
had seen at Hunting Creek on Monday by his gimpy left leg.
