[va-bird] Call for volunteer(s)!

Hello,

I am looking for one or two birders who enjoy sharing their knowledge to help
lead a hike on the morning of Saturday, November 20th at Bull Run Regional Park.

I am the Manager of Stewardship & Adventures in Conservation for the Northern
Virginia Conservation Trust, a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Annandale. We
work primarily in the Arlington/Alexandria/Fairfax area, and have protected
over 1,160 acres of open space, riparian habitat, and wooded areas through
conservation easements & the occasional purchase.

As part of our mission we also lead outdoor trips for the public. One of our
upcoming events is a "Turkey Search" in Bull Run Park on the morning of
November 20th. I would love to have a local birder come with us who could talk
a little about wild turkeys, and maybe other bird/conservation related issues
such as bird habitat in Northern Virginia (especially effects of
sprawl/urbanization), migrants that come through here this time of year,
backyard habitats, etc. The forum will be very relaxed & the audience will be
members of the general public. I plan to bring pastries, Starbucks coffee, and
hot apple cider if logistics allow!

So, if you would be interested in taking a walk in the woods on a brisk fall
morning with us, or if you know of someone who would, please give me a call or
send an e-mail! (See contact info below)

I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
Whitney Butler
