Hi all, Once again this spring, the Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory has a research program in place on the Eastern Shore centered at the Eastern Shore Refuge. Below is the result of the first week of banding. Of note in the area is the Eurasian Collared Dove that continues to be seen near the intersection of Route 600 and 645 (Cedar Grove). A Yellow-breasted Chat seen on Jones Cove Road (alternatively Mockhorn Refuge or GATR Tract) is presumably an overwintering bird. Tree Swallows continue to move in small numbers and the first Eastern Phoebe was noted today.
