The Cape Henry Audubon Society HAD been planning a field trip to the
Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel Islands on Saturday, September 27th. That
trip was set up for our newsletter before we realized that the CBBT is
conducting its annual biking and hiking extravaganza on the same date!!.
The toll-area parking lot where we normally meet for carpooling will be
closed to the public. Islands #2 & #4 were damaged by the hurricane and
are temporarily closed and Island # 1 will be closed for the event. Not
to mention that the Kiptopeke Challenge has been rescheduled for the
same day. It seems best to CANCEL the Cape Henry Audubon Trip! Any local
Tidewater-area birders and members who had been planning to
attend..PLEASE spread the word that we have CANCELLED the event. We will
also try to activate our old rare-bird alert telephone-tree to also
spread the word. Thank you!
