My wife and I spent part of Saturday, March 27 birding on the CBBT.
Our observations included:
Horned Grebe-2
N. Gannet-only 1
Great Cormorant-6
DC Cormorant-400-500
Brant-35
Harlequin Duck- 3 off island #4 (adult male, adult female, and 1st winter
male)
All three scoters, but only in small flocks. Saw one flock of about 30
white-winged in flight.
RB Merganser- 25-30
A. Oystercatcher-4
Ruddy Turnstone- only 1
Purple Sandpiper- 25
E. Phoebe- one on the rocks off the end of # 2. Do they nest on the islands?
