[va-bird] Butterfly Workshop

While the following is not on birds I thought some of you might be int'd as
many of us turn to butterflies during the summer doldrums - pls note the fee is
now being treated as a donation as we have had the workshop underwritten by a
foundation:

Butterflies & the Wild Plants They Need

On Saturday, July 20 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Wildcat Mountain Farm (a little
north of Warrenton off of Rt. 17) Pat Durkin, co-founder of the Washington
Butterfly Club, will introduce us to the fascinating world of butterflies,
including their biology and identification. The classroom is Jocelyn Sladen's
beautiful historic family home on top of Wildcat Mountain (where it borders one
of The Nature Conservancy's preserves). The workshop will include field work
in private gardens, meadows and wood edges.

Jocelyn Sladen and Regina Yurkoni will discuss butterfly plants, both wild and
in the garden.
