Greetings,
On Monday afternoon my wife and I had three close juv Buff-breasted
Sandpipers on a field in Fauquier County, just west of Remington. The road the
field
is on in not in the newest De Lorme. It is on the west side of Route 658, less
than a half mile north of the intersection with Route 651. This is section
of Route 651 northwest of Remington, just across US 29. The intersection of
651 and 658 is about a hundred yards from the intersection. The field is hard
to miss. These birds were gorgeous, obliging, and only fifty yards or so from
the edge of the road. This road gets little traffic and has ample space to
get entirely onto the grassy shoulder on the east side.
Also present here are about 25 Killdeer.
Cheers,
Todd
