[va-bird] Broad-winged hawks, waterfowl in Loudoun Co.

Yesterday morning I fought the glare at the Dulles Wetlands in Loudoun County
to check out the waterfowl. Numbers seemed quite high. What I could
distinguish were:

Wood Duck - at least 5 males
Am. Wigeon - 8 - 10 males
Am. Black Duck - 2 males
Mallard - several
Blue-Winged Teal - 4 - 6 males
Green-Winged Teal - around 20 males (probably more)
No. Shoveler - 2 pairs
No. Pintail - 1 male
Great Blue Heron - 2

In Purcellville later, I saw 2 Broad-Winged Hawk, immature, fairly low overhead.

On Saturday morning, walking a 3.5-mile loop through my Lincoln neighborhood, I
saw or heard 7 Phoebe, a Fox Sparrow, Brown Creeper, Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker,
and Meadowlark, and at the beaverpond at the end of my driveway was a Wood Duck
pair and I watched a pair of Red-Shouldered Hawks mating from a distance of 30
yards, not far from where they had their nest last year.

What a wonderful weekend to be out and about!
