Yesterday I had the priviledge of watching a hawk, one I believe to be a
broad winged, it didn't have any red on it and had some white above it's
beak. It was mostly grey and white. If anyone is interested in birding this
area, it is wonderful. I just got my life pass so if anyone is interested, I
will try to set up a meeting time and place in Front Royal and we can go
together. It has 1600 acres of land, 5 miles next to the river - georgous!
Anyway I watched this lovely creature, preen itself, stare intently at the
ground and swivel it's head around a lot scoping out the area. It even stood
on one leg and stretched the other one. Guess you can tell I'm new to
birding. Didn't see it today though.
