On Thursday, June 26 at Fancy Gap School in Carroll County,
Allen Boynton and I found a single male Bobolink and at least
five Savannah Sparrows in the field across from the school.
This is the exact location where these same two species were
located by John & Thelma Dalmas on the summer foray back in
1997. I have checked this location each year since then and
have found these two species present all through the nesting
season each year since 1997. Rolling fields with hay and short
grasses are the predominant agricultural features.
