I was delighted to see at least one Black-throated Blue Warbler 2 days
in a row during my daily walk around the back of our cul-de-sac,
yesterday mid-day and today around 8:00 A. M. Unlike others on this
list I had not yet seen any migrants, just the usual yard birds.
No matter that this bird is a low to mid level bird and easier to see
than most Warblers, or that others see as many as 30 at a time.
I did see several Cedar Waxwings near the top of Sam's Knob while on
vacation near Ashville, NC, and a couple of Ravens on the way down.
Oh, yes, I saw my first Wild Turkey from Valley View Cabin in Penrose,
NC. There were 2 turkeys walking across the opening that gave us a view
of the early morning fog filled valley beyond, a marvelous sight.
