[va-bird] Black Rail

Hi everyone,

The black rail was calling this morning for at least 2 hours when I was  
there from 8 to 10.   It was like an electronic high pitched double beep 
followed by a purrrrr sound.

Very tough to pick out amongst the morning cacophany of blackbirds, frogs, et 
al.
Thank you Mary Lou for helping me!  He was in the lizard tail or cattails in 
the loop of the boardwalk.

Young hooded mergansers, mallards and wood ducks scudded about. A lovely 
morning indeed.
