Here are two things Ive never seen before:
1. A pair of red-bellied woodpeckers in flagrante delicto being buzzed by a
downy. Weird interspecies love triangle? Prudish downy wanting red-bellies
to get a room? Your guess is as good as mine.
2. A Coopers hawk apparently dueting with a sapsucker, trading single-note
calls that sounded remarkably similar, from about 100 feet away.
Guess it is spring
In less weird news, there were at least 5 phoebes calling in White Oaks
Park, along with a couple of yellow-rumps, and a golden-crowned kinglet. 2
fox sparrow still under the feeder.
