[va-bird] Birds at Staunton River State Park on Dec 17, 2005

Greetings and Merry Christmas to all:

Today while searching for birds for the upcoming Banister River WMA
Christmas Count tomorrow, I made a quick trip to Staunton River State Park
to look for ducks.

The best find of the day was a single Tundra Swam found on the Staunton
River. It soon took flight and rounded the point and flew up the Dan River.

Other birds found was as follows:

Bald Eagle - 1 adult
DC Cormorant - 1
RB Gull - 1,000 plus
Bonaparte Gull - a few
Bufflehead Duck - 10
Wild Turkey - 3
