[va-bird] Birds Seen at the Blue Ridge Center (Loudoun Co)

Twelve people participated in the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy's bird walk at
the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship in northwestern Loudoun
County this morning. They saw 25 species which worked out to a little more
than 2 bird species per person. Possibly because of the weather & cold (it was
in the low 20's when we started) there were very few birds around though we did
enjoy looking at the many tracks, including Turkey, in the snow. The list
follows:
Black Vulture 1
Turkey Vulture 6
Canada Goose 20
Red-shouldered Hawk 3
Red-tailed Hawk 1
Ring-billed Gull 3
Rock Pigeon 1
Mourning Dove 5
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 1
Downy Woodpecker 3
Pileated Woodpecker 2
Blue Jay 1
American Crow 15+
Carolina Chickadee 2
Tufted Titmouse 2
Brown Creeper 1
Carolina Wren 2
Eastern Bluebird 6
Northern Mockingbird 2
European Starling 3
Field Sparrow 10
Song Sparrow 6
White-throated Sparrow 15
Dark-eyed Junco 50
Northern Cardinal 12
