I love watching the birds at our feeders throughout the winter, but was
saddened when these little creatures flew into the window with some
regualrity and died. I've placed a small gooseneck halogen lamp which I
purchased for under $20 at the window. I turn it on with the light
facing the feeders. This "little sun" keeps the birds away from the
window. Last winter I had only two fatalities in five months of feeding
my feathered friends - a 90% decrease in the mortality rate.
