[va-bird] Birding Augusta County

Hello all
Today Pat & I did a full scale birding tour of all the ponds in Augusta county
. With a couple of ponds still covered with about 50% ice & the rest with just
margins of ice around the sides . Just to let birders know Waterfowl is on the
move . Below is what we found today . The best find was a lone Common Goldeneye
at the old Dupont ponds in Waynesboro ( this plant is now Invista ), a pair of
Loggerhead Shrike's in Swoope near the intersection of Rt. 876 Cattleman Rd. &
Rt. 707 Livick Rd. Look for a tree that has a white jug in the tree & along the
fence lines along Rt.876. , & a total of 16 Canvasback's at several ponds in
Augusta County is a winter peak count plus a winter peak count for 5 Wood Duck
.
