I wonder if it is worth pointing out that birders offer CBBT security a
much extended reach in terms of watching for unusual activity on the
islands. On any given day, birders visiting the CBBT bring powerful
optics, terrific observation skills, and usually cell phones. Having
even one extra pair of highly skilled eyes per day on the bridge tunnel
islands is a plus that we contribute to, not detract from, the security
effort.
