Hello all,
The six bird watchers who joined us for this morning's Fairfax Audubon Society
(FAS) bird walk in Reston saw 37 species.
Highlights included two Green-backed Herons, Eastern Kingbird, and American
Redstart (at least two) at Sunrise Valley Park.
The highlight of the walk was probably a tie between seeing an adult American
Bald Eagle soaring over Bright Pond and a Red-headed Woodpecker that appears to
have taken up residence in the wetlands east of Bright Pond. Other highlights
at Bright Pond included White-breasted Nuthatch, Eastern Bluebird, and Tree
Swallow.
