The Williamsburg Bird Club's monthly field trip will be at Newport News =
Park
Saturday, February 17 beginning at 8:30. Visitors and club members are
welcome!
Bill Williams, Director of Education for the Center for Conservation =
Biology
and Bird Club Board member, will be our leader. A group will be =
carpooling
from Williamsburg, and we will park at the Discovery Center Parking Lot =
on
Constitution Drive. Visitors should meet us there at 8:30 to join our =
walk
over the swamp and boardwalks. Dress warmly and wear sturdy walking
shoes/boots.
If you live in Williamsburg and want to join our carpool convoy, meet by =
8
am at the Colony Square Shopping Center on Jamestown Road.
We'll be on the lookout for Red-headed Woodpeckers, Bald Eagles, and
wintering water fowl. This is a good trip for spotting scopes because =
the
park has numerous boardwalks and overlooks that yield good views of the
lake.
