VA Birders,
Highlights of our No. Va. Bird Club trip to Beaverdam Reservoir and
Brambleton Regional Park in Loudoun Co. yesterday included 3 Pied-billed
Grebes, 2 Tundra Swans, a Common Merganser and 40 Red-breasted Mergansers at
Beaverdam Reservoir. The pond at Brambleton Regional Park (& golf course)
held 21 Ring-necked Ducks and 6 Buffleheads. We also had 3 Red-breasted
Nuthatches (1 at Brambleton & 2 at Beaverdam), a Hermit Thrush at Beaverdam,
and about 12 Rusty Blackbirds at Brambleton.
