The Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy is sponsoring a free program Tuesday evening,
Sept. 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Rust Library in Leesburg that John Drummond has
put together on the Birds of Banshee Reeks.  The mosaic of different habitats
at the Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve attracts a wide variety of birds.  John
Drummond of the Friends of Banshee Reeks and co-author of the preserve's
checklist will show slides of the many birds that can be found at the preserve.
About 230 different species have been observed at or near the preserve.  In
addition, he will describe the may different habitats that exist at Banshee
Reeks and explain how they combine to attract so many different birds - both
migrants and nesters.
For directions to the Rust Library go to
http://www.lcpl.lib.va.us/rust/index.htm#DIRECTIONS.

John Drummond will also lead our regular (every 2nd Sat.) monthly bird walk at
the Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve in central Loudoun County this Sat., Sept.
11, meeting at 8:00 am at the Visitor Center/Manor House.  Everyone is welcome
at these bird walks which are sponsored by the Friends of Banshee Reeks
(www.bansheereeks.org) and the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy
(www.loudounwildlife.org).

Directions to the Nature Preserve can be found at www.bansheereeks.org.
