About 15 birders showed up for the regularly scheduled Banshee Reeks birdwalk
this morning in Loudoun County. Despite the heat, a total of 57 species were
seen and/or heard. Highlights included a pair of Scarlet Tanagers (the female
with nesting material), several vocal and visible Yellow-breasted Chats,
Red-headed Woodpeckers, and nice looks at Orchard Orioles and Eastern
Kingbirds.
