A great big thanks to Brenda Tekin for providing a page to view the
Highland Co. bald eagle photos. I tried to share them as attachments
unaware that Va-bird does not support attachments.

Initially we (Patti Reum & I) setup a motion activated camera on
Margaret O'Bryan's place- east side of Snowy Mt., west side of VA 640 on
VA/WV line.We aimed it at some lamb carcases and after three days had
one photo of deer and 127 photos of grass blowing in the wind. Nothing
bothered the carcases so I moved the operation to the west side of Snowy
Mt.
Some of the results are included here. The location is west of Snowy Mt.
at bottom of Lantz Mt. on hill above Chris Royal's house- large cream
house on west side of VA 644, Hardscrabble Rd. about 1/4 mile north of
VA 643, Hevener Lane. We see golden eagles flying into an area nearby on
Lantz Mt. the Royals call "The Rookery." Obviously our first camera
capture was a bald eagle, not golden. This is one of several areas we've
scouted to search for golden eagle nesting on April 21. We are working
with WV biologists on this and hope to gather some help from interested
birders. Anyone interested may contact me or Patti Reum at
