All,
Birded Augusta Springs Wetland area this morning in Western Augusta County south of Churchville on Rt 42. Lots of birds and the morning started out on an excellent note with a sighting of Blue-winged Warbler and followed up soon after with a single Pine Siskin. Tons of Goldfinches. The numbers below are good estimates but are not exact tallies. Basically the place was dripping with Goldfinches in the early morn. I was hoping for American Bittern but got lots of Green Herons instead. Don't know if American Bittern has ever shown up at this spot or not but it seems as likely a spot for one as anything else in the vincinity that I currently know of.
