There was a small but varied fallout of migrant warblers first thing this
morning behind my house in Ashburn after the rain stopped .Highlights were
Philadelphia Vireo , 6 American Redstart , 2 Black and White , Blackburnian
,Magnolia ,Black-throated Blue and Blackpoll.
Later I visited for the first time the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental
Stewardship which lies North of Hillsboro in Loudoun County. Tom Bjorkman
very kindly guided me around some of the trials in this extensive property.
Highlights were Alder Flycatcher ( confirmed by tape-playback ) located on
the north side of Sawmill Road (Rt 687 ) just prior to the dead end ,probable
Yellow-bellied Flycatcher ( refused to call or sing ) , Blue-winged Warbler

Kentucky,Hooded,N.Parula ,American Redstart, 5 Louisiana Waterthrush , 20 +
C.Yellowthroat ,8 White-eyed Vireo, 6 Yellow-breasted Chat and 50 + Indigo
Bunting.
