We spent Thursday-Sunday in Durham, NC, at our daughter's family place, where
migration was noticeably further along than here when we left home
(woodthrush singing, chimney swifts overhead, great-crested flycatchers quite
vocal).
But arriving home last evening, the morning greeted me with the first
blackpolls of the year singing in the big oak trees.
