Mary Floyd and Gene Keefe led 16 observers on the Monday Morning Birdwalk at
Huntley Meadows Park today, June 16, 2003, from 0700 to 0930. The skies were
clear and sunny, the humidity was low, and the temperature was in the low
seventies -- a very pleasant day for a walk in the Park. A Pileated Woodpecker
demonstrated just what it is that Pileated Woodpeckers do. A Ruby-crowned
Kinglet graced the feeder at the Visitor's Center early this morning.
Where are all the American Crows, Fish Crows, and Blue Jays? Has the West
Nile Virus taken that much of a toll? Also among the missing was the Belted
Kingfisher.
