Gentle Readers,
Chris French and Sy Fishbein led the Monday Morning Birdwalk at Huntley Meadows
Park this morning, March 7, 2005, from 0700 to 0930. The skies were sunny, the
winds were calm, and the temperature was above 50 degrees F. Erika Wilson
pointed out some Rusty Blackbirds near the beginning of the Boardwalk on the
forest floor. Pride of place today must go to Chris French who observed an
Eastern Meadowlark around 0645. The Meadowlark may be an indication of just
how dry the Central Pond has become since the collapse of the beaver dam.
