[va-bird] American Robins

Sorry for the cross-posting, but from the postings this phenomenon appears to
be regional. Out of my window at work today, in the Del Ray section of the
City of Alexandria, I watched from 100-200 American Robins in trees, on
buildings and on gutters of homes. They were flitting back and forth, very
active.
I've never seen that many Robins in one place before. Is there something going
on to bring that many Robins together? Certainly not Spring...yet. I've seen
postings on MDOsprey lately of large flocks of Robins, but not any answers to
why they are together in such large numbers. Anyone?
