The Avocet was still there Sunday evening and the Black Rail was also calling.
Just a typical June day at Huntley. No Carolina Parquets were seen, but
there's always tomorrow. ;-)
But seriously folks,.............has anyone ever seen or heard of an Avocet
at Huntley Meadows before?

VA Birders,
Rob Hilton and Lisa Shannon asked me to report that an American Avocet
in
breeding plumage was at Huntley Meadows Park, Fairfax County this morning
(Sunday, June 30). The avocet was seen from 9-10:15 am this morning. It
was
on the right side of the boardwalk, beyond the loop toward the tower. It
was
still there when they left.
