I was at Huntley yesterday afternoon and I'd just add a few sightings to
Chris' list:
2 Glossy Ibis by the new beaver dam/lodge
1 Palm Warbler beyond the second beaver lodge

Subject: [va-bird] Huntley Meadows (4/26/05); Misc arrivals and Hooded Merg
ducklings
Date: Tue, 26 Apr 2005 15:22:43 +0000
Good morning,
About 62 species at Huntley Meadows Park (Fairfax County) this morning. New
arrivals (for me) included GREEN HERON (flushed thanks to a collosal sneeze
on my part), GC FLYCATCHER, RED, WHITE (and BLUE) VIREOS, WOOD THRUSH,
SCARLET TANAGER, and ORCHARD ORIOLE. Warblers were limited to COMMON
YELLOWTHROAT, YELLOW RUMPS, OVENBIRDS, BLACK-THROATED GREEN, and NORTHERN
PARULA. The place was absolutely thick with WHITE-THROATED and SWAMP
SPARROWs. RUSTY BLACKBIRDS continue, and I enjoyed watching a group of 4
SAVANNAH SPARROWS running about in the now grassy areas of the central
marsh.
I noted one gosling and a stay-at-home HOODED MERGANSER mom with 8 merglets
(I think ducklings is the correct term, actually).
