Hi everyone,
Judy and I have just returned to England from our vacation in Virginia and
would just like to say thanks to all the birders we met at Chincoteague (where
we were staying ) and at Kiptopeke and the ESVNWR, for making our visit a
memorable one. Everyone was so helpful and we were treated with kindness and
patience ( our lack of knowledge showed ! ) throughout. We did not always
remember or make a note of names but particular thanks to Lynda & Thomas Blair
who made a special trip to Kiptopeke to meet us; to Meredith Bell and the
members of the Hampton Road field club for inviting us to join them; to Jethro
and his team at the banding station who made sure we got some pics - and knew
what the species was; and to the guys at the hawk watch platform at Kiptopeke
who must have wondered why we could not always see the raptors they were
pointing out !!
Perhaps someday we may be able to repay the debt if any of you visit our
'patch' on this side of the pond.
Roger and Judy Norman.
