[va-bird] 30 species at Jamestown Island , 2/26/07

Virginia Birders,

When making plans to visit Jamestown this spring for the 400th
commemoration, pack your binoculars and scopes because Jamestown Island =
is a
great place to bird.

I was out there this afternoon for 4 hours and tallied 30 species =
without
some of the usual suspects. I was glad to get a Gray Catbird, my first =
this
year.

Bald Eagles are everywhere -- mature and immature, perched and flying. =
There
is at least one active nest on the island.

Heard the first hooting of the Great Horned Owls at 3:40 pm. today
