Through the Wormhole

by Captain Lindsey Craig, featuring Lieutant Ezri Dax

Sitting in the Chair, Lindsey tapped its arm to open a link to the shipwide
comm-systems. "Captain Craig to the Crew, this is to announce our immenant
departure from the Station." She closed the comm and asked the Communications
Officer to open a channel to the station.

"Tempest to DS9, we're ready to leave."

"DS9 to Tempest." Came Dax?s voice. "Stand by." There was a long pause before
the trill?s voice was once again heard. "Your clear Tempest, processed with
disembarking procedures. Then head for the worm hold and hold position."

"Thanks, any advice about the turbulance we'll expect through it?"

You could almost see the smile in Dax?s voice. "Buckle your seat belts." She
teased. "Really though, I wouldn?t worry to much. Your class of Akira was built
to deal with wormhole travel. It shouldn?t be anything to unbearable."

"Well that's good to know." Lindsey held back a gulp as she finally said,
"Thanks for everything, DS9, you've been great hosts but we gotta fly."

"See you on your first return, Tempest." Came the reply. Dax watched as the
ship pulled away from the station with ease and made it?s way to where the
wormhole would open. "Standing by."

Space was pitch black for a few moments and then the smallest blink of
something could be seen.

"Tempest, prepare to enter on my mark." Dax said. "In 5, 4, 3,2,..... God Speed
Tempest and good luck."

"Take us in, Ensign," Lindsey said to the Helm. And so we're through.
