[USS Tempest] Awards FYI

There are two different types of award on the Tempest: those decided upon by 
the crew and those by the hosts.
 
The Crew's Choice Awards:  these include Shakespeare's Quill and Log of the 
Month First and Second Places.  Let's start with the Quill.  This is awarded 
quite simply to each log that is nominated for Log of the Month.  Everyone who 
is nominated gets one.  Next we've got Log of the Month.  This is fairly 
self-explanatory.  You guys all nominate three of the best logs, we tally the 
results and then the top two get First and Second Place.  That's it, folks, 
that's how we decide LotM on Tempest.
 
The Hosts' Choice Awards: there are three of these, namely, the Tempest Award 
(for outstanding plot logs), the Ariel Award (for outstanding personal logs) 
and the Pie in the Sky Award (for outstandingly funny or zaney logs).  Some 
months there might be several of each award handed out, others there may be 
none at all.  These are purely at the discression of the hosts.  Be warned, 
though, don't expect to get one just because you've won LotM.  These are highly 
coveted (we hope) and are only handed out to logs that are truly special.  Why 
do I get the impression that we'll need lots of those?
 
Each month the winners will be announced on the mailing list plus put on the 
site.  Plus the winner for LotM will go to the CPA to be judged for the Muse
