ON Lukas sat at his desk for quite some time after Cadet Wren had left. He briefly wondered if he had been too hard on her in making her go to Harriman, and then having to tell Tru about her predicament. He then decided, "No." She had to learn there were consequences to actions, both good and bad. It was also time for a certain Commodore to find out there would be consequences to actions. "Ensign Harriman," Lukas said tapping his comm badge. "Open a channel to Admiral Ross." It took several minutes before the comm signaled an incoming signal. Lukas tapped the control on his desk, and Admiral Bill Ross appeared on the viewscreen. "Lukas," Ross said with a smile. "I wasn't expecting to hear from you, but I'm glad you called. How was your R&R?" "Couldn't have been better, Admiral," Lukas said. "Between mah kids and mah wahfe, Ah am ready for relaxing and getting back to duty." Ross chuckled. "That's good to hear. Were you calling to find out anymore about the DeKalb shuttle?" "Not really, sir," Lukas said. "Ah have another small situation on mah hands. Ah don't want to start a battle of the Commodores out here, but it is bound to happen if something isn't done." Lukas explained all that Wren had told him. He sent the admiral the data from the PADD Hailey had given him. Admiral Ross looked it all over for a moment, then looked back at the screen. "You may find this hard to believe, Lukas," Ross said with a note of sarcasm in his voice, "but you are not the first starship commander to complain about Stryker. I have had Admiral Jennings speak withhim once about his attitude, but this takes the cake. What do you want to do about the cadet?" "She's going to be a fahne officer, Admiral," Lukas replied. "Ah have given her a two-week suspension of bridge duty. Ah want her to remain aboard. It's not her fault she got in with the wrong commodore." "Good," Ross said with a smile. "I'm glad to hear...." He turned hsi attention away from the viewer for a moment, then looked back. "Lukas I have to go.... another small emergency. I do want to talk to you about the DeKalb shuttle and the T'Kil, so I will have to get back to you." "Sounds fahne to me, Admiral," Lukas replied. "You know where Ah'll be." "Yes, I do," Ross said with another smile. "Oh, and don't worry about CAPTAIN Stryker. I will handle this personally. Ross out."
