Nemesis Part Three - Honour-Bound to Darkness
Iruvande S'Akhiy'Rhienn
"Kneel," Shinzon demanded as he flowed into the Senate rooms. His
stormy eyes angered further when the pale creature simply stood there
as if he was nothing but an inconvenience to her. "Your Praetor gave
you an order, Romulan!"
With a slight incline of her head, Iruvande sank down to her knees.
"My Lord," was all she said, her soft, lilting voice filling the hall
as if she'd shouted.
"Your Lord. Yes, that's exactly what I am. Will you serve me?"
Shinzon began to circle her, one hand reaching out to almost brush
against her.
"Ie, my Lord, I am hru'Airifvir, honour-bound to serve thee, my
Praetor." Evil, she thought. Cruel and vile creature.
Not even Havrannsu. Hevam. Her disgust didn't show on her face
but it poisoned to her core that she knelt before a monster that
totally lacked mnhei'sahe.
"Leader of my personal army, no?" His eyes shone slightly but he was
already turning away from her.
"Ie, my Lord. They follow my order," Iruvande confirmed.
"They would follow anyone who was hru'Airifvir, am I right?" Shinzon's
back was completely to her now as he pretended to inspect an engraving
on the wall.
With reluctance, she said, "Ie, my Lord."
"Well that is good news then, since you will not be for very long."
Spinning around, he pinned her with his eyes. "Iruvande
S'Akhiy'Rhienn, you are relieved of your duties as hru'Airifvir. You
ran from your post at my side. You failed me as you failed your
previous master. You are a disgrace."
Her cheeks burned but she kept her pale eyes on his face and her
_expression_ blank.
"Should I offer you a sword? That is what you are given when you have
failed so badly, is it not?" he asked with a smirk.
"As thee wishes, my Lord," she replied evenly.
"Would you use it?" Arching one eyebrow, he folded his arms.
Her first smile crawled across her face, sending a chill down the
spines of the Remans in the hall. "That is between the sword and I, my
Lord."
Shinzon's eyes flashed dangerously. "Get her out of my sight!"
Four pairs of rough hands dragged Iruvande to her feet, pulling her
backwards from the Hall of the Senate. Green eyes pierced his for a
moment and told of the unspeakable pain she'd inflict on him one day
before she disappeared through the gate and was gone.
"Send her to work in the mines where our brothers have slaved for too
long under Rihannsu heals," Shinzon said in a soft muse. "Make sure
she understands the debt to us is large."
"Yes, my Lord," the Viceroy nodded with approval and swept out.
