<USS Banshee> USS Banshee -- Log #1, Ensign Jansug Idrys: "I know something you don't know"

       Ensign Jansug Idrys sat back in his seat on the runabout USS Alph and 
stretched luxuriously. Guess I won't have much time for that. ... Ah, yes, 
now let me check this latest message. He reached down and picked up a PADD 
and flicked it on, scrolled through it and found the message he'd been 
waiting for. He sipped at a cup of Uttaberry tea and smiled as he read it.

       Memo from: Peter Banning, Ph. D., Director, Betazoid Academy of 
Counseling
       To: Fleet Admiral 'Ayyub M. Dawood, Director, Starfleet
       Stardate 237905.21

       Dear Admiral Dawood:

                With regards to the recent complaints lodged by Captain 
Jean-Luc Picard, his ship's Counselor, Deanna Troi, and Captain Crystal, 
about Cadet J. Idrys being promoted to Ensign and his assignment to the USS 
Banshee as Counselor, I must in all honesty state that their fears are 
unfounded. Idrys has studied under my personal tutelage and he is quite 
gifted and can do his job more than adequately. As a Counselor myself, I 
sensed nothing more than a total lack of reasoning on these individuals' 
parts and it seems to be nothing more than a wasteful vendetta by them. 
Furthermore, the Captain of the USS Banshee has explicitly requested a 
Counselor, that post having gone unfilled for a long time. I do believe that 
she will welcome Ensign Idrys, especially given the nature of their current 
assignment. I'm afraid I do not have the liberty to say why this is so; 
suffice it to say, I know something you don't know.

       Gentlemen:

                You have to admit defeat once in a while, you know. Petition 
denied re Mr. Idrys's assignment.

       Here Idrys began giggling quietly. "Ah, yes, Peter and I really do 
know something they don't ... and neither do the crew of the Banshee, 
either." He stretched again and sipped at his tea. "This ought to be a riot."
