[USS Athena] "Enter the Starzen"

The engines of the Sparta came to life. JhuRhiana touched the thruster 
controls, lifting the runabout easily off the planet's surface.  She 
applied the impulse engines which gave the ship the strength to defy the 
planet's gravity.

Svonn directed the ship's sensors skyward.  As they neared the edge of the 
planet's meager atmosphere, Svonn got a clearer scan of the area of space 
surrounding the planet.

"At first glance," Svonn said to JhuRhiana "I cannot sense our attackers.  That 
does not mean they are not on the other side of this world waiting for us to 
emerge."

"I would recommend we return to the Athena then, Commander," 
JhuRhiana commented.

"A good recommendation, Arrain," Svonn responded. "Set course out of the 
sys.....standby."  He glanced at the sensors and saw,... "Anpther ship.  Not 
our 
attackers.  Entering the system.  Go to warp, Arrain."

"Ie, Rekkhai," JhuRhoana responded.  She turned the runabout to head 
out of the system, and pressed the control to engage the warp drive.  
Instead of the small ship jumping to warp, the console where the warp 
relay had been, blew out.  The cabin fill with a light smoke layer which 
was quickly handled by the recirculators.

Svonn jumped quickly to the console.  He made certain the fire suppression 
system had engaged.  "It appears the conduits were not capable of the strain."

"Commander," JhuRhiana said.  "The new ship has entered the system 
and they are hailing us. Should I prepare for evasive maneuvers?"

"Prepare, yes," Svonn ordered moving back to his console.  He activated the 
comm channel.

"Unidentified craft!  This is the Starzen patrol cruiser Zentar. You are in 
violation of 
the Starzen Congmlomerate ban of this system. Prepare to explain your presence 
here or you will be forced to surrender your vessel."
